BELGRADE - SERBIA

Another lengthy journey through the picturesque moutain scenery of former Yugoslavia took me from Sarajevo to Belgrade. Despite being the largest city in the Balkan region, I found Belgrade quite plain and not particularly interesting although the rather inclement weather during my stay probably didn“t help in my evaluation.

During my visit I had a look inside a great number of churches and cathedrals, scattered around the city, all of which were quite grand and beautifully decorated. I also spent much of my time just chilling in various parks scattered accross the city, watching the local people go about their business. People watching, I found to be much more interesting than wandering around the city, not because the Serbian people led particularly interesting lives, but mainly because 99% of the people (i.e. girls) who wandered past were amongst the most beautiful I had seen since leaving South America.
